What to Wear this Fall

Fall is about a month away and stores are already selling their autumn trends.  I absolutely loved AW2011 fashion because it featured a lot of fur, leather, flares, menswear and a bit of a 70's vibe.  I am looking forward to seeing what my favorite local stores would have in stock this fall, but in the mean time, here are some of my favorite Fall trends.

Faux Fur

I think I mentioned fur too many times on this blog.  But  I can't help it; I love  faux fur and the fact that it is back this season is exciting!  And you don't have to wear a full on fur coat to wear this trend.  This season, a fur collar on a leather coat is just as on trend.

I love when a fur vest or coat is worn with a short dress and tights. 

Flares

Alice and Olivia Fall2011

I've been waiting for the flare to come back for a while now.  I got so excited that I started wearing my Lucky Brand flares in the middle of the summer and not too many people got it.  (Then again, it was 90 degrees at the time)  I found that because of the very long skinny jeans era, people have become afraid of stepping out of their tight legged jeans, but people c'mon, enough is enough with doing the pants dance every morning!  I've literally fallen in love with the Alice and Olivia leather flares above and I think I'm prepared to spend my entire life savings on them (oh my parents would be proud).

This season, flares are coming in a lot of offbeat, 70's colors.  I really love the ASOS Kick Flare Pants pictured above because it comes is a mustard-camel-ly color.  When wearing flares, I find that they look best with a tucked in shirt and maybe a belt.  I like to wear my my flairs with leather clogs to lengthen my legs.

Becoming One of the Boys

I'm really feeling this new androgynous style.  It's very chic, and there are so many ways to add this to your wardrobe.   There are many different types of "boyfriend" clothing to choose from and while shopping, you should really ask yourself if you want one with a girly flair or do you want a true "boyfriend" style.

Both jackets above (which can be found at ASOS), are at different ends of the androgynous spectrum, however they are still very on trend.  

I am totally looking forward to see what other styles become popular on the streets.  Oh autumn, I wish you could come faster!
